Douglas A DeSilva, a former resident of Chelmsford, MA and Rochester, NY passed away on _____________. Mr DeSilva leaves his beloved wife Joan (O'Sullivan) DeSilva and two children; Susan of Marblehead, MA, and Brian and his wife Karen of Chelmsford, MA. He is survived by four grandsons Samuel and Augustus Baylow and Jake and Benjamin DeSilva. He also leaves his sister, Carolyn DeSilva of Bellingham, WA. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Margaret DeSilva.
Mr DeSilva was an honors graduate of Keith Academy and Boston College. Prior to his retirement, Mr. DeSilva was employed by Liberty Mutual in Portsmouth, NH in information technology. He also retired from Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY and it's subsidiary, Sterling Winthrop Inc, in New York City where he held a number of advancing positions in IT management.
Mr DeSilva was an avid sports enthusiast. While in Rochester, he was a winner of the Rochester Squash Rackets champion and participated in road races and the Rochester marathon.
In retirement, Mr DeSilva enjoyed being with his family , especially his grandsons who brought him great joy. He was active in his church and assisted as a Lector and Altar Server.
